Bad Brews: The Epic Red Storm

I've been working on a new deck in my head for about a month now. Magmatic Insight was spoiled and I thought to myself, "Is there a way to do Storm without Blue? Are there enough good red draw spells to make it work?" The answer is yes... ish. here's the list I've settled on:

Here's how it compares to traditional Storm:

Cons:
Slower
Reliance on Ascension
Weakness to Disruption

Pros:
Consistency
Explosiveness
Simplicity
Budget

This deck goldfishes well and "goes off" much more consistently than its multicolored counterpart and almost never "fizzles" thanks to spells that are better with an Ascension. It almost has to have Pyromancer Ascension, but can turn it on SUPER easy with all of the cards it's dumping into the graveyard. It can start as early as turn two, but most of the time it's on four or five, making it both potentially more explosive and also slower on average. However, a single Thoughtseize, Duress, or Inquisition of Kozilek is almost a game loss because there's little actual card advantage until Ascension is online. The lines of play are much more obvious and the decisions fewer. Outside of the Fetchlands, the deck costs very little to buy.

All-in-all I don't think this version is viable just yet. At least not competitively. But, it is very close. We just need one more red draw spell that provides actual advantage or the ability to see further into the deck. It's too easy to disrupt and just a turn too slow for my liking.

What do you think? What kind of spell would set this deck over the edge? Come up with some ideas for cards that, if ever printed, would make it a tournament-caliber deck and post them in the comments here or on Facebook. I'd love to see your ideas!
